Bill
Docherty
Billy
Docherty is a recently retired Glaswegian man who decided to try
painting in his spare time. His inspiration is "Bob Ross"
a television artist who produces a full oil painting in ½
an hour. Billy had always been a "doodler" when his children
were growing up and now he's keen to try it seriously. After a trip
to the art store to get some basics he was ready to begin. That
is when he started his journey.
He
started attending The Annexe Art Class on a Sunday afternoon to
get some more tips. Here he met with "Carla" the Art Tutor
and other people on the "artistic journey". He soon realised
after experimenting with other mediums that paint on canvas was
what he enjoyed best. It also seemed to be what he was good at!
The biggest and most useful tip he could get from "Carla"
was not to be afraid of making mistakes." Just Go For It"
- That has been what he has been doing since
.( Thank You Carla!)
It has been 6 months since brush has touched canvas and since then
there has been no stopping him. He is beginning to accumulate more
and more paintings - daily
..we hope you enjoy them.
"What's
the waste if you make a mistake
you're only learning. To improve
you must be practicing. To practice you have to be free to make
mistakes and learn from them."
Learning
has been fun for Billy. He believes that anyone can paint these
kind of paintings (Just like Bob Ross says!) and all you have to
do is practice
and always just go for it!"
